I eat Chef Boyardee Beef Ravioli alot but when I was a kid and adolescent I used to eat Chef Boyardee Rollercoasters. They were twisted pasta with small meatballs. I loved eating them. I wish they were still around. There are sure a lot of less than adequate canned pasta crap around now that doesn’t even come close to rollercoasters. Bah now I have that memorable taste in my head.
February 10th, 2004 on 11:09 am
I just searched the internet today trying to find Rollercoasters only to discover they are no longer available.I am devastated. They were my all time favourite. Maybe we could start a Rollercoaster fan club and send a petition requesting their return to Chef Boyardee. We know there are at least two of us…
February 19th, 2006 on 1:56 pm
make it 3!! I LOVED Rollercoasters!!
April 12th, 2006 on 1:45 pm
Add me to the list. Those were my Absolute favorite as a kid! I liked them with meatballs and my friend liked them without.
June 4th, 2006 on 6:00 pm
Roller coasters were awesome, I miss them so much. The petition idea needs to be a go.
September 20th, 2006 on 9:13 am
I agree! I’m in on the petition! I loved them so much I’d eat them right out of the can. Several years ago I found some at the store and bought every can they had (which wasn’t many).
September 30th, 2006 on 1:05 am
bring back my beloved rollercoasters!
October 18th, 2006 on 9:21 am
I was just eating a canned soup for lunch that has the same pasta shape as roller coasters. It got mne to thinking about them and so I looked them up as well. WHAT A BUMMER!!!!! I loved those damn things. GO COASTERS!
October 18th, 2006 on 10:33 am
I just had a soup for lunch with the same pasta shape as roller coasters. Made me remember them, so I looked them up…WHAT A BUMMER!!! I would also like to join a "Bring back the Coasters Club." They were delicous.
November 12th, 2006 on 5:27 pm
Ditto here. I was just eating a can of twistaroni and something about it reminded me of rollercoasters. I googled my way here. It’s nice to see I’m not the only one who misses them.
December 19th, 2006 on 3:21 pm
Add me to the list. I would love it if they made those again. The meatballs like they have in Spaghetti-o’s but with thicker pasta. mmmmm
January 6th, 2007 on 10:18 am
i once wrote to chefboyardee and here was their response about rollercoasters…
Thank you for your inquiry regarding our Chef Boyardee Roller Coaster
Canned Pasta.
As consumers’ preferences for products change, so do the varieties of
our
products. Only the products with the greatest consumer appeal remain
on
the store shelves over time. Unfortunately, the product you inquired
about did not have enough consumer interest for us to continue
manufacturing it. The products we currently offer are those that have
the
greatest consumer demand.
We will forward your suggestions to our Marketing Department.
Sincerely,
ConAgra Foods Consumer Affairs
if they knew how many kids out there loved rollercoasters in the 80s they would come back. my brother and i were addicted to them ..and still are if we can only find them …we need to have a rollercoasters revolt!!!! i miss those little twirly noodles and the sauce was devine!!!! lets send them emails ever week about them!!!
January 7th, 2007 on 1:59 pm
i gotta say – i LOVED rollercoasters when i was a kid and would buy them now if only they were around
February 6th, 2007 on 11:48 am
How about an online petition? The last can of Roller Coasters I enjoyed was in 1990 in Oswego, NY. I never saw them again. It’s sad, really.
February 17th, 2007 on 7:21 pm
I LOVE Rollercoasters too! To this day, they are my favorite!! I like beefaroni/ravioli, but they don’t compare to rollercoasters! I would buy RC’s by the case if I could find them! It hurts to know that my children will never know the best Chef Boyardee product ever made. If there was something I could do to get them back on the shelves, I would!
May 9th, 2007 on 6:14 am
Rollercoasters were the best. I am very disapointed to see that they are not available anywhere.
June 4th, 2007 on 11:04 am
My Friend Renee and I dream about the RollerCoasters. They were so good! Nothing today compares to those. I hope they bring them back, even for a limited time so that today’s kids can experience the stuff we had as a kid. Yummmm!
July 2nd, 2007 on 5:39 am
I’m definitely on this bandwagon. I would do cartwheels down the aisle wearing a kilt if I saw roller coasters on the shelves again.
July 17th, 2007 on 7:17 pm
mrs. c
I really thought that I was the only one who still thought about Roller Coasters. It was one of the only things that I would eat when I was a kid. I still look around to see if I can find them every once in a while. The stuff that they have out there now just isn’t the same. They also had Beef O’getti.
Does anyone remember those too? They were just as good!
July 17th, 2007 on 7:22 pm
I will sign the petition as well. I loved Roller Coasters. Who knew there was a Roller Coasters fan club out there. I use to eat them almost daily as a kid. I would buy them today if they put them back on the shelf!
I also liked Beef O’Getti. They were like spagetti o’s w/ beef, but soooo much better.
August 5th, 2007 on 9:21 am
Bring em back, I loved these so much when I was a kid, my brother and I still talk about these. We ate them everyday after school.
October 7th, 2007 on 10:06 pm
OMG, I just had a craving for those fine Rollercoasters to find out they are gone. I am actually sad about this!!
October 9th, 2007 on 1:26 am
Well I"m writing in because my sister is pregnant with her third child and is SERIOUSLY CRAVING THOSE ROLLER COASTERS. If I knew any way and how to get some I would drive sign or start ANY PETITION needed to get her some!!! She talks about those everyday!!!
November 4th, 2007 on 4:53 am
my wife and i have a bet about the number of meatballs in a can of rollercoasters. unfortunately, since they stopped making it, i cannot prove to her that there are always 20 meatballs in a can. can i get some confirmation here.
November 4th, 2007 on 4:53 am
Does anyone remember how many meatballs were in a can
November 5th, 2007 on 9:24 am
I too loved RollerCoasters as a kid and would still eat them now if they were available. I once called Conagra Food and asked about them. The lady I spoke with was very surprised that I remembered them.
I’d sign an online petition to try to get Conagra to make them again. I just mentioned them to my boss who worked security at a Chef Bouardee factory in NYC. He did not remember them but was heating up a can of Ravioli. I think Rollercoasters had a blue label instead of the usual red.
December 9th, 2007 on 12:58 pm
they were my alltime favorite. also bought out a store a few years back when i found some. i have notice that the chef boyardee mini ravioli and meatball combo appears to have the same meatball as the rollercoaster. check it out.
January 4th, 2008 on 11:02 am
Mike,
You are correct, there were 20 mini-meatballs in each can of roller coasters. The reason I know this is because everytime I ate them in the 80′s as a kid, I would always save the meatballs for last, and count them as I ate them. It was always 20.
January 7th, 2008 on 3:20 pm
roller coasters were so delicious! please!!! why won’t the jesus of canned food have it’s second coming?
January 13th, 2008 on 11:23 am
I miss Rollercoasters so much!! They were my favorite as a kid!
January 21st, 2008 on 12:16 pm
i have been looking everywhere for rollercoasters. my craving finally got so bad i decided to google them and that got me here. i can’t believe so many people miss them like me. maybe we could send this whole page to chef boyarde or whoever and we can bring them back.
February 18th, 2008 on 7:50 pm
Great minds think alike!! Alas Roller Coasters were my all time favorite too!! With the return of the 80′s… movies, T.V. shows and memorabilia, I think RollerCoasters should be added to the list of Icons and put back on the shelves!! I support the petition and if that does not work, I suggest we boycott Chef Boyardee until they actual hear the cry of the consumer and BRING BACK THE ROLLERCOASTERS!!

yes I demand the return of rollercoasters! i love that stuff.
February 27th, 2008 on 11:56 am
Did anyone get a petition started yet? I really want some rollercoasters.
March 15th, 2008 on 12:37 pm
I LOVED rollercoasters…i have found other foods from my childhood occassional pop-up in other countries (perhaps some "key ingredient" that doesn’t meet US guidelines?) I wonder if there are still ancient cans of rollercoasters lingering around Dubai or Copenhagen?
March 23rd, 2008 on 9:10 am
I was just eating a bowl of Campbells Select Italian Sausage with Past and Pepperoni soup, and the pasta reminded me of Rollercoasters. I loved those and did a search to find if they still made them. I am bummed that they aren’t around anymore. I used to love soaking the rest of the sauce up with a piece of bread after all the pasta and meatballs were gone! BRING ‘EM BACK!
April 15th, 2008 on 11:55 am
OMG! I did not know this many people feel the same as me. I get ridiculed so much because I am a professional chef and spaghetti O’s and rollercoasters are such a guilty pleasure for me. They are/were such a joyous comfort in my life.
April 24th, 2008 on 2:45 am
OMG I just Googled to find some hint of where I could find a can of my beloved Roller Coasters. I ate these things by the truckload as an 80′s kid. They did have a blue label. I’d pay insane amounts to get another can; and I wouldn’t share with the kids either.
May 7th, 2008 on 2:04 pm
To all my caoster brethren: I say we beat down the door of the bastards that took away our favorite CHEF food and demand that the process gets underway to make them again. No name change – no ingredient change- gimme the same food that got me through a troubled childhood. I grew up on the streets and used to steal only one thing. ROLLER COASTERS !!!!!!!!! I can’t believe that there are so many of us out there !!!! Keep the dream alive. Food of the gods……….
May 9th, 2008 on 12:00 pm
Say it isn’t so?!
<single tear>
God Bless Rollercoasters.
May 13th, 2008 on 1:25 pm
Isn’t the internet great? I’m just trying to find a picture of the damn can. God, those Rollercoasters were the best.
Thanks for making this issue public. The fight continues!
June 4th, 2008 on 9:29 am
I wrote ConAgra Foods, parent company of Chef Boyardee about bringing back Roller Coasters, and they replied with something like "We have no plans to produce Rollar Coasters at this time". Imagine that… A canned answer!
If you really want to revive Roller Coasters, drop em’ a line:

The C. Boyardee lasagna is close to the Roller Coaster, with mince beef particles instead of the meatballs. Not as good, but the closest thing you’ll find……

Wow I have been telling my Wife to buy them for sometime now. She say she can never find them. When I go shopping I look from time to time. She thinks I made Roller Coasters up. I was eating a bowl of Ravioli and mention it again. But this time I was in front of the PC! So here I am after a Google search! Bring back the Roller Coasters!

I just sent ConAgra Foods a note, told them there are lots of people out there like me who are longing for the Roller Coasters to come back. It’s been a running joke between me and my wife for years now, each time she goes to the store, I tell her to pick me up some Roller Coasters.
July 21st, 2008 on 11:10 am
The color of the label depended on whether there were meatballs in the can or not.
I think using licensed character shaped pasta is just lame.
Bring back the Coasters!

I just finished having a conversation with my wife about my 2 favorite snacks as a child. Chef’s Roller Coasters and Nabisco’s Tid-Bits. I’m tore up cause neither one of them are made anymore. How are our children supposed to grow up without ever experiencing something as perfect as those two snacks…Its a complete and udder tragedy. Let me know where to sign the petition.

Aw, rats. I thought they were only discontinued in Canada.
Whenever anybody I know takes a holiday in the States, I tell them not to bother coming back without scouring the supermarket shelves for Roller Coasters.
I guess I should stop doing that. NO! There’s always a chance…
July 29th, 2008 on 5:43 am
my brother and i used to be addicted to roller coasters.. i guess we still are.that great spiral pasta and that sauce!!you knew when you found the blue can it was them. my brother and i still seek them out everytime we go to the store..i hate chef boyardee for taking them off the shelf..please mr chefboyardee bring them back!! i can still taste them after 20 years…

February 15th, 2009 on 4:26 pm
when i was a kid, that was all i would eat. if they brought them back, i would buy them by the case just so they wouldn’t ever go away again. i think we should start a petition.
March 12th, 2009 on 8:21 am
my brothers and i will sign the petition so my mom will quite singing "Roller coasters, roller coasters were are you, roller coaster, roller coasters i miss you" everytime we get a can of chef boyardee. we really enjoy hearing her sing but she really misses her roller coasters, so please start the petition.
April 30th, 2009 on 12:38 pm
I’ll just echo everything everybody else said here. I was craving them and went googling them and ended up here. They were yummy with a runny sauce and now they’re gone! Every food item I like ends up going away! No more Cap’n Crunch’s Vanilly Crunch cereal, no more Campbell’s Tomato Beef Noodle-O’s soup or Noodles and Ground Beef soup… and no more Roller Coasters… sigh… the list goes on! Bring back the Coasters!!!
May 4th, 2009 on 3:21 pm
it is just rollercoster Ravioli go get the real one and stop complaning it is not a big deal.
May 8th, 2009 on 1:04 pm
I have discovered that Prego mini-meatball pasta sauce kind of reminds me of roller coasters. It’s not the same, of course, but it helps with cravings and brings back memories.
I miss that blue-labeled can…
July 16th, 2009 on 4:31 pm
Roller Coasters were great… I used to eat them at least once a week.
August 11th, 2009 on 4:44 am
SERIOUSLY PEOPLE I KNOW THAT SOMEONE ON HERE HAS THE BRAINS TO KNOW HOW TO START A PETITION ONLINE!!! YES, I AM SAYING THAT I DON’T!!! BUT I HAVE FAITH THAT SOME OF YOU ARE. SO PLEASE START A PETITION AND POST THE LINK ON HERE!!! I HAVE SEARCHED FOR THESE FOR OVER 10 YEARS. LUCKILY WHEN THEY STOPPED MAKING THEM I WORKED IN A GROCERY STORE, MY FIRST JOB @ 15, & WAS ABLE TO GET MY HANDS ON 5 CASES AND MADE THAT LAST ME A LONG TIME. BUT EATING THAT LAST CAN WAS LIKE GOIN TO A FUNERAL!!! R.I.P. ROLLERCOASTERS!!!!
September 24th, 2009 on 7:30 pm
I’m a Roller Coaster kid too! I grew up on those things.
My wife was able to find some in the mid 90′s, but I haven’t had them since. Every time I eat a can of Chef Boyardee Lasagna, it just makes me think about how great roller coasters were.
Bring them back, Chef!
September 27th, 2009 on 5:29 pm
I LOVED Roller Coasters! I still eat Beefaronie and ravioli and everytime I am eating those, I wish they were roller coasters instead because they were the best. I so wish they would just bring them back.
November 3rd, 2009 on 11:48 am
I loved Roller Coasters as a child too. I miss the blue can of yumminess. It was one of my favorite meals. Sad to see that they are not being made anymore. I would buy some right now if I could. I would love to share that memory with my children.
December 2nd, 2009 on 9:04 am
